Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* FOOD DONATIONS Kapolei Curves serves as a drop-off point for canned food donations to the Hawaii Foodbank during the month of March.Collection times are 7 a.m.-1 p.m.and 3-7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m.-1 p.m.and 3-7 p.m.Friday; and 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the fitness center, 8890 Kamokila Blvd. Service fee to the women’s gym will be waived from March 8 through 20 in exchange for a bag of groceries.Call owner Lara Gerber at 674-2866.

* DRUG FREE Kendyl Ko Drug Free Hawaii Family Night runs from 6 to 8 p.m. March 2 at Hawaii Okinawa Center,featuring guest speakers,dinner and entertainment for all ages. Call 453-6530.

* BIGGEST LOSER The Biggest Loser Challenge begins with weigh-ins at 6:30 p.m. March 4 at Kamokila Community Park, 91-015 Farrington Hwy. Fee is $35, and weekly motivational meetings will continue through May 20. Go to http://www.provenpowerfulnutrition.com.


 

* LITTLE LEAGUE Ewa Little League registers children ages 5-12 for its 2010 extended season at 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 5 at Puuloa Community Park. * RECYCLING The Green House talks about garbage and performs a ‘waste audit’ at 11 a.m. March 6 at Kapolei Library. Call 693-7050.

* HEALING TIME The Malama Learning Center hosts a workshop on the Hawaiian healing practice of la’au lapa’au from 9:30 a.m. to noon March 6 at Kapolei High School. Cost is $7 per person, $15 for a family up to three people. Registration is required. Call Janice Staab at 542-9107.

* GARAGE/BAKESALE Le Fetuao Samoan Language School holds a garage and bake sale from 8 a.m.to 2 p.m. March 6 at Island Family Christian Center (3375 Salt Lake Blvd.), with household items, clothes, toys and samples of Samoan and local baked goods.
