Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* NEIGHBORS Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. March 8 at Aiea Library, and the Ewa board meets at 7 p.m. March 11 at Ewa Beach Library. Call 768-3710.

* FOOD DONATIONS Kapolei Curves welcomes canned food for Hawaii Foodbank this month: 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. Friday; and 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday at 8890 Kamokila Blvd. Service fee to the women’s gym will be waived March 8 through 20 in exchange for a bag of groceries. * COMEDY NIGHT On the Spot improv troupe continues its weekly comedy run at 7:30 Friday nights through March 26 at Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy, 99-1153 Moanalua Road in Aiea Village Square. Admission is $5, doors open at 7 p.m. Call 224-7585.

* DANCE SIGNUPS The Pearlridge chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association registers students at 7 p.m. March 9, 16, 23, 30 and April 6, 13 and 20 in Waimalu Elementary cafeteria for its first quarter American Social classes in bolero, West Coast swing and tango. * BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 10 at Campbell High School library and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 at Youth Challenge Academy in Kalaeloa. Call 845-9966.

* ROTARY SPEAKERSPBS-Hawaii CEO Leslie Wilcox addresses the Kapolei Rotary meeting at 7:30 a.m. March 11 at Kapolei High School faculty lounge; an update on Ilima at Leihano is set for March 18, and Neil Abercrombie speaks March 25. Call 630-8730. * LIBRARY FURLOUGHS All public libraries are closed March 12 and 19 for staff furlough days and March 26 for Prince Kuhio Day. The Aiea branch also will close March 11 and 18.

* TAIKO AT LCC Kenny Endo presents Convergence at 8 p.m. March 13 in Leeward Community College Theatre, featuring the best of classical Japanese drumming with percussion-ist Kiyohiko Semba, violinist Takahashi Kaori, bamboo flautist Kaoru Watanabe and dancer/choreographer Miho Morinoue. * GARDEN DAY Oahu Urban Garden Center conducts its Second Saturday at the Garden March 13, offering free educational activities for the public at the 30-acre spread, including live samples of melon fly damage and a demonstration of suppression techniques from 9 a.m. to noon (focusing on zucchini). * ROTARY GALA Kapolei Rotary Club presents “Evening at Lanikuhonua” from 6 to 9 p.m. March 13 at Lanikuhonua at Ko Olina Resort, featuring food samplings from fine restaurants and a silent auction. Tickets cost $50; make reservations at 387-9284.

* TRIATHLON The Waterfront at Puuloa hosts its 5th annual Waterfront Weekendfest at the beach-front with a 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m. March 20 and youth (ages 6-14) triathlon to follow.
