Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* RECYCLING SHOW The city Department of Environmental Services presents its educational recycling display at Pearl City Library during the month of June. Call 453-6566.

* BALLROOM DANCE The Pearlridge chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association registers students for classes in nite club two-step, cha cha and bolero at 7 p.m. June 29 and July 6, 13 and 20 at Waimalu Elementary cafeteria. * BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 29 at Ihilani resort’s Malolo Room, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 2 at HECO’s Waiau plant, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 3 at Pearlridge Uptown and from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 10 at St. Joseph Church and School in Waipahu. * CANCER ART Oncology Nursing Society presents the exhibit Oncology on Canvas through July 1 at Kapolei Hale courtyard, showing art by patients, families, friends and medical staff on life-affirming changes in their cancer journey. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 768-6622.

* KO OLINA ART Handcrafters & Artisans Alliance sponsors Artfest at Ko Olina from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 3 at the resort fronting Paradise Cove Luau. Parking is free. Call 696-6717.

* WAIMALU HIKE Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile intermediate hike to Waimalu Ditch at 8 a.m. July 4. Go to htmclub.org.

* PEARL CITY DANCE The Pearl City chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association offers classes in nite club two-step, cha cha and bolero from 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tuesdays July 6 through Aug. 24 in Manana Elementary’s cafeteria. * KAPOLEI D DANCE The Kapolei chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association begins classes in East Coast swing, merengue and nite club two-step at 7 p.m. July 12 at Kapolei Elementary. * MAYOR D DEBATE The West Oahu Economic Development Association hosts a mayoral debate among five candidates from noon to 2 p.m. July 9 at the FilCom Center in Waipahu. Fee is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Call 842-1600.

* ORCHID SSHOW Ewa Orchid Society has its orchid show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 9 and 10, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11 at Ewa Elementary School. Admission is $2. * MA’O BBENEFIT MA’O Organic Farms hosts its annual fundraising dinner and auctions from 6 to 9 p.m. July 10 at Bishop Museum, featuring entertainment by Kupa’aina and a local menu from Town and Downtown restaurants and Kona Brewery. Tickets are $150 each and support the farm’s education partnership with Leeward Community College. Call 696-5569.


* HOMEBUYER TTIPS Central Pacific Bank’s Pearl Highlands branch hosts a free homebuyers seminar at 2 p.m. July 10 at 1030 Makolu St. Call 544-3506.

* DEMOLITION W WASTE The city leads a Construction & Demolition Tour from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15, starting and ending at Kapolei Hale. Guests will see how material from demolition waste is sorted and recycled at various facilities to keep in out of the landfill. Call 768-3200.

* SENIOR SSUMMIT Kaiser Permanente has a free Senior Summit lecture at 10 a.m. July 28 in conference room 1AB of its Waipio Clinic (94-1480 Moaniani St.). Topic is “Reverse Mortgages - Making An Educated Decision.” Call 432-2235.
