Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* PEARLRIDGE DANCE The Pearlridge chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association registers students for classes in nite club two-step, cha cha and bolero at 7 p.m. July 6, 13 and 20 at Waimalu Elementary cafeteria. * PEARL CITY DANCE The Pearl City chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association offers classes in nite club two-step, cha cha and bolero from 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tuesdays July 6 through Aug. 24 in Manana Elementary’s cafeteria. Registration is from 7 to 8 p.m. July 6 and 13. Call Shirley at 456-2129.

* NEIGHBORS Ewa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. July 8 at Ewa Beach Library, and the Aiea board meets at 7:30 p.m. July 12 at Aiea Library. Call 768-3710.

* BON DANCE Waipahu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its bon dance at 7 p.m. July 9 and 10 at 94-821 Kuhaulua St. CALL 677-4221.

* MAYOR DEBATE The West Oahu Economic Development Association hosts a mayoral debate among five candidates from noon to 2 p.m. July 9 at the FilCom Center in Waipahu. Fee is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Call 842-1600.

* ORCHID SHOW Ewa Orchid Society has its annual orchid show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 9 and 10 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m July 11 at Ewa Elementary School on Renton Road. Admission is $2. Call 351-6897 or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

* GARDENING Urban Garden Center has a free public gardening program from 9 a.m. to noon July 10 at 955 Kamehameha Hwy. Call 453-6050.

* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank has a donor drive from 7:30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. July 10 at St. Joseph Church and School in Waipahu. Call 845-9966.

* LITERACY Hawaii Literacy meets at 10 a.m. July 10 at Island Pacific Academy to brief prospective tutors on its Adult Literacy Program. Call 537-6706.

* DYE WORKSHOP Bernice Akamine leads a workshop on creating natural dyes from traditional Hawaiian plants from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 10 at Malama Learning Center at Kapolei High School. Cost is $7 per person or $15 for families of up to three people.

* MA’O BENEFIT MA’O Organic Farms hosts its annual fundraising dinner and auctions from 6 to 9 p.m. July 10 at Bishop Museum. Tickets are $150 each and support the farm’s education partnership with LCC. Call 696-5569.

* HOMEBUYER TIPS Central Pacific Bank’s Pearl Highlands branch offers a free homebuyers seminar at 2 p.m. July 10 at 1030 Makolu St. Call 544-3506.

* DEMOLITION WASTE The city hosts a Construction & Demolition Tour from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15 from Kapolei Hale to show how demolition waste is sorted and recycled at various facilities to keep in out of the landfill. Call 768-3200.
