Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* NEIGHBORS Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. July 12 at Aiea Library, and the Waipahu board meets at 7 p.m July 22 at the FilCom Center. Call 768-3710.

* KAPOLEI DANCE The Kapolei chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association begins classes in East Coast swing, merengue and nightclub two-step at 7 p.m. July 12 at Kapolei Elementary. * PEARLRIDGE DANCE The Pearlridge chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association registers students for classes in nightclub two-step, cha cha and bolero at 7 p.m. July 13 and 20 at Waimalu Elementary cafeteria. * PEARL CITY DANCE The Pearl City chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association offers classes in nightclub two-step, cha cha and bolero from 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 24 in Manana Elementary’s cafeteria. Registration is from 7 to 8 p.m. July 13. Call Shirley at 456-2129.

* DEMOLITION WASTE The city conducts a Construction & Demolition Tour from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15, starting and ending at Kapolei Hale. Guests will see how material from demolition waste is sorted and recycled at various facilities to keep it out of the landfill. Call 768-3200.

* BON DANCE Rissho Kose-kai Buddhist Church in Pearl City has its bon dance at 6:30 p.m. July 16 and 17 at 2280 Auhuhu St. Call 455-3212.

* GOLF HEARING The city Department of Planning and Permitting holds a hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 16 at Ted Makalena Golf Course to discuss the public links’ request for a special management area use permit to make improvements. The city course is located at 93-059 Waipio Point Access Road. Call 768-8027.

* HANGAR TALK Pacific Aviation Museum has its monthly Hangar Talk at 1:30 p.m. July 17 featuring free lectures with paid admission. Call 441-1012.

* PARENTS’ RIGHTS Parents for Righteousness conducts a seminar on parent/grandparent rights and child welfare services from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17 in Waianae High School chorus room. Call 697-8384.

* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17 at Waikele Center. Call 845-9966.

* NATIVE FORUM The Office of Hawaiian Affairs leads a discussion of the Native Hawaiian Education Act at 6 p.m. July 21 at Kapolei Middle School. The act is up for reauthorization this year by Congress, and this is the time to express support for the law and its funding. Call 596-8155.

* TENNIS LEAGUE Island Tennis League registers players by July 21 for its summer season that begins July 24 on courts all over Oahu. Fee is $20 for singles, $35 per doubles team. Sign up at islandtennisleague.org.

* PAINTING EXHIBIT FUJIFILM Hawaii presents “France Discovered” from 6 to 9 p.m. July 24 at 94-468 Akoki St. in Waipahu, featuring 12 images painted on fabric by Hisashi Otsuka. For reservations, call 676-3207.
