Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* The Box Car Track is open from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 3-5 in the Kunia Park-n-Ride Lot. Call 947-3393.

* Kapolei Library hosts play mornings for toddlers and preschoolers Thursdays at 10 a.m. beginning Jan. 4. Call 693-7050.

* DJ Azteca from Mexico City and other guest deejays present Latin Night from 9 p.m. every Friday at Panama Hatties in Aiea. Call 485-8226.


* Hawaii Blood Bank donor drives are open from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in Kapolei’s Kakuhihewa Building; from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at Pearlridge Center; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Kunia Wal-Mart. Call 845-9966.

* Parker McLachlin heads up a free golf clinic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at Ko Olina Golf Club. Call 676-5300.

* Entertaining at Pearlridge Center this week are Brittni Paiva at 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at Borders (626-7203); Hema Pa’a at 1 p.m. and Holunape at 2:30 p.m., both on Jan. 7 at Uptown Center Court (488-0981).

* The Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at Aiea Library. Call 527-5749.

* The Pearl City and Pearlridge chapters of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association register students for rumba, cha cha and paso doble lessons, which will be held from 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 9. Pearl City classes are in the Manana Elementary School cafeteria (456-2129 or 689-6374). Pearlridge classes are in the Waimalu Elementary School cafeteria (836-4579 or 488-3935).


* Keiki Kani Music Studio in Aiea (99-016A Kamehameha Hwy.) offers free presentations on how to encourage music appreciation and develop musical talent in your child at 3 p.m. Jan. 13, 20 and 27. Call 487-2275.

* Receive free preschool teacher training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 a.m. beginning Jan. 16 at Kapolei High School. The initial $50 fee is refunded upon successful completion of the semester-long course. Call 845-9496.

* Potential candidates for neighborhood board seats and voters wishing to register should get their application forms in by Jan. 16 to the Neighborhood Commission office. Elections are in March. To obtain forms, call the commission at 527-5749.
