Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* FESTIVAL Leeward Community College presents its 14th annual International Festival this week. Remaining events are at 9 a.m. March 14, a cultural extravaganza on the library lanai with Moroccan musicians; and 10 a.m. March 16, a talk in Room GT-105 on nuclear issues in North Korea and Iran. * SWAPPERS Waipio Center seeks participants for its annual Community Swap Meet, set for March 24. Deadline is March 14 to reserve a booth. Call Sherry Goya at 722-8487.

* LUNCH The Pearl Restaurant is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 14, 15, 16 and 21, 22 and 23 at Leeward Community College. Call 455-0475.

* SENIOR GAMES The seniors’ (age 55 to 69) Classic Games run from 9 a.m. to noon March 15 at Halawa District Park. Call 266-7652.

* CLEANUP Hawaii Nature Center seeks volunteers to help clean up and restore Waipahu’s Pouhala Marsh from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 17. Call 955-0100, ext. 18. * SCHOOL’S OUT Hawaii public schools are on spring break for two weeks, from March 19 to 30.

* BOARDS The Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. March 19 at Aiea Library; the Waipahu board meets at 7 p.m. March 22 at Hawaii’s Plantation Village. Call 527-5749.

* BLOOD The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 18 at Waikele Center next to Leonard’s Malassadas and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at Ewa Town Center by Foodland. Call 845-9966.

* ON STAGE Richard Wells performs at 1 p.m. March 18, followed by Halau Hula O Mokulehua at 2:30 at Pearlridge Uptown. Call 488-0981.

* ART Winners of the 2006 Earth Month Photo and Video Contest are on view through April 3 at Kapolei Hale Courtyard.

* GOLF Registration is due by March 20 to play in the April 9 Honolulu Theatre for Youth golf tourney at Waikele Golf Club. Call 457-4255.

* WAIPAHU LIBRARY Waipahu Library (94-275 Mokuola St.) host two free spring break programs for children. Doug Beter will introduce his “rainbow pigeons,” with a release and flight demonstration at 11 a.m. on March 20, and children will have a chance to meet a guide dog at 3 p.m. March 28. * EWA DRAINAGE City planners hear Haseko’s request to make major drainage improvements at Oneula Beach Park at 10:30 a.m. March 23 at Ewa Beach Library. Call 523-4256.

* BALLOTS Neighborhood Board ballots will be mailed out March 23 for voters to select candidates for the new term. Call 527-5749.

* MAKUA Two studies regarding the Makua Military Reservation are available for public comment at the Pearl City,Waianae,Wahiawa and state libraries. Comments are due by April 3. Call 655-8729.

* FILIPINO LENT The Philippine celebration of Lent, or Pabasa, will be held for free from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 6 at Hawaii’s Plantation Village Social Hall. Call 230-0088.

* BOOKS Borders Waikele hosts three monthly reading groups: Bestsellers at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday; Romance Readers Anonymous at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday; and International Women’s Writing Guild at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday. Call 676-6699.

* WAIPAHU STORYTIME Waipahu Library (94-275 Mokuola St.) has free storytime and activities for keiki ages 3 to 5 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays through April 17. Call 675-0358.

* PEARL CITY STORYTIME Pearl City Library (1138 Waimano Home Road) has free weekly storytime at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays through May 24 for keiki 2 and older and Thursdays for toddlers. Call 453-6566.

* KAPOLEI STORYTIME Kapolei Library offers free weekly storytime for toddlers age 2 to 3 Mondays and for preschoolers Thursdays and Saturdays through April 28; both sessions begin at 10 a.m. Call 693-7050.
