Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* PALISADES Pacific Palisades Community Association has its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. May 2 at 2106 Aamanu St. Call 455-5182.

* TOASTMASTER The Ewa Toastmasters Club hosts an open house at 7 p.m. May 3 at Kahi Mohala, 231 Fort Weaver Road with state Sen. Clarence Nishihara. Refreshments are planned, and there’s free parking. Call 383-1489.

* TALK STORY State Sen. Mike Gabbard and Rep. Sharon Har co-host a community meeting in the Kapolei High School Cafeteria from 9 to 10 a.m. May 5, and Gabbard hosts a solo talk story meeting at Waikele Elementary School cafeteria from 9 to 10 a.m. June 2. Call 586-6830.

* PLANTS The Urban Garden Center conducts a free “Gardening for Seniors” open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m May 19 at 955 Kamehameha Hwy. in Pearl City, featuring tours, plant and produce sales, an Idea Garden, bonsai display and demonstrations, cooking, educational displays,entertainment, crafts,door prizes and free vegetable seedlings for visitors over 65 while supplies last.
