Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

JULY

* PEARLRIDGE BALLROOM The Pearlridge chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association holds registration July 17 for classes in East Coast Swing, Peabody and Bolero at Waimalu Elementary School cafeteria (98-825 Moanalua Road). * BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 22 at Waikele Center (by Leonard’s Malasadas) and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at Pearlridge Center Uptown (outside entrance to Tilt). Call 845-9966.


* NEIGHBORS The Pearl City Neighborhood Board meets at 6:30 p.m. July 24 in the Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria. Call 527-5749.

* HEART HEALTH Kaiser Permanente presents a free Senior Summit lecture on July 25 at its Waipio clinic on “The Art of Energy.” Call 432-2235.

* SMALL BUSINESS The Small Business Administration offers free 30-minute consultations for small business owners at the Waimalu Bank of Hawaii (98-1277 Kaahumanu St.) from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. July 26. Call 541-2990 ext. 210.

* ASPHALT The city Planning and Permitting Department conducts a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 26 at Kapolei Hale on a permit application from GLP Asphalt to build an asphalt terminal on John Wayne Avenue at Kalaeloa harbor. Call 768-8020.

* BOX CAR TRACK The Kunia Box Car Track offers free youth programs from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday through July 27, for children age 9 and older next to the Kunia Park and Ride lot. Call 947-3393.

* REUNION Campbell High’s Class of 1982 plans its 25-year reunion in July. Call Ray at 479-9152 or Evelyn at 479-7745.

AUGUST

* ON STAGE Keiki Kani Choir performs at 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at Pearlridge Uptown Center Court. Call 488-0981.

* SELF-PUBLISHING Author Rich Budnick leads a free workshop on how to publish your own book at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at Aiea Library. Call 395-1161.


* FLAG FOOTBALL The PAL Flag Football program seeks players age 7 to 12 as well as volunteer coaches for the upcoming season, which begins Aug. 18 in West Oahu communities. Call Officer Al Balasbas at 847-0177.

ONGOING

* FOOD PANTRY Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on North Road has a Food Pantry which serves anyone in need: homeless, elderly and those on fixed incomes. Bags of non-perishable food are distributed from 10 a.m. to noon on the last Friday of each month by the Social Outreach Ministry. Call 689-8681.
