Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

July

* NEIGHBORS Pearl City Neighborhood Board meets at 6:30 p.m. July 24 in the Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria; the Makakilo-Kapolei-Honokai Hale board meets at 7 p.m. July 25 at Kapolei High School cafeteria; and Waipahu meets at 7 p.m. July 26 at Hawaii’s Plantation Village. Call 527-5749.

* SMALL BUSINESS The Small Business Administration offers free 30-minute consultations for small business owners at the Waimalu Bank of Hawaii (98-1277 Kaahumanu St.)) from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.July 26.Call 541-2990,ext.210.

* ASPHALT The city Planning and Permitting Department conducts a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 26 at Kapolei Hale on a permit application from GLP Asphalt to build an asphalt terminal on John Wayne Avenue at Kalaeloa harbor. Call 768-8020.

BOX CAR TRACK The Kunia Box Car Track offers free youth programs from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday through July 27, for children age 9 and older next to the Kunia Park and Ride lot. Call 947-3393.

* STATE ID CARDS State personnel process applications for Hawaii state ID cards from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 28 in the Kapolei High School cafeteria. Fee is $10 for seniors 65 and older, $15 for all others. Call 587-3111.

* BLOCK PARTY Kapolei Marketplace and Skin Industries host a Back to School Bloock Party from noon to 4 p.m. July 28 at the shopping center with live music, prizes, an import car show, an air bag show and many merchant sales.

LISTEN STORY State Sen.Mike Gabbard and Rep.Sharon Har conduct a “Listen Story” community meeting at the Royal Kunia Community Association office from 9 to 10 a.m. July 28. Call 586-6830.

* MANANA HIKE The Hawaii Nature Center conducts a 4-mile, moderate family hike in Manana from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 28. Fee is $8 for non-members. Call Pauline at 955-0100, ext. 18.

* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drive from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 at the Ewa Town Center Foodland; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at Pearlridge Center. Call 845-9966.

* SOCCER CAMP West Oahu AYSO Region 769 holds a youth soccer camp July 30 to Aug. 3 at Waipio Soccer Complex. Call 888-857-6222.

* KEIKI ID Children of all ages can register for a free Keiki ID at Pearl City Library (1138 Waimano Home Rd.) from 3 to 4 p.m. July 30. Sgt. Mike Oakland and staff will be on hand to take keiki fingerprints and photos for a national database which helps locate missing children. Keiki will receive a copy of their ID card. Call 453-6566.

* COMMUNITY MEETING Sen. Will Espero hosts a community meeting at Keoneula Elementary School cafeteria (91-970 Kaileolea Dr.) at 7 p.m. July 30. Chancellor Gene Awakuni of UH-West Oahu will discuss the long-awaited campus and Christina Uebelein will provide an update on the Kapolei Court House. Call 586-6360.

* BIODIESEL The city Planning and Permitting Department conducts a public hearing at 10 a.m. July 31 at Kapolei Hale on a major special management area permit application from Imperium Renewables Hawaii to build and operate a biodiesel facility at the corner of Malakole Road and John Wayne Avenue at Kalaeloa harbor. * GOLF TOURNEY The Sam Choy-Aloha Shoyu Big Man Golf Tournament happening Aug. 2 at Pearl Country Club benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. Call 591-2771.

* FLAG FOOTBALL The PAL Flag Football program seeks players age 7 to 12 as well as volunteer coaches for the upcoming season, which begins Aug. 18 in West Oahu communities. Call Officer Al Balasbas at 847-0177.

* FILIPINO CENTENNIAL FilCom (94-428 Mokuola St.) in Waipahu features Sentenaryo: 100 Years of Filipinos in Hawaii and Beyond. The exhibit is on display through Sept. 29. Call 680-0451.

* FOOD PANTRY Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on North Road has a food pantry for the homeless,elderly and those on fixed incomes. Bags of non-perishable food are distributed from 10 a.m. to noon on the last Friday of each month by the Social Outreach Ministry. Call 689-8681.
