* MILITARY GOLF Ko Olina Golf Club will donate $1 of every round played on Sept. 1, PGA’s and USGA’s Patriot Golf Day, to Wounded Warriors, an organization that supports families of soldiers who have been wounded, injured or killed in combat. The club also offers military personnel $20 off 18-hole green fees and $10 off 9-hole green fees throughout the month. Call 676-5300.

* DANCE PARTY Music from the 1980s to current hits will play at the Sugar Hill dance party at Lily Koi Lounge from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sept. 2 for ages 21 and over. The $10 entrance donation benefits Musical Youth of Hawaii. Call 479-3008.

* OKINAWAN STUDIES Guest lecturer Koji Taira, a professor at the University of Illinois, presents “Okinawan Identity and Independence” at UH-West Oahu room E-103 at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 4. Call 454-4720.

* FREEWAY TALK State Rep. Rida Cabanilla hosts a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at Asing Park (91-1450 Renton Road) to discuss using public-private partnerships to construct freeway lane miles. A presentation and slide show will follow on the new Tampa tollway by Panos Prevedouros, a UH-Manoa civil engineering professor. Call 586-6080.
