* STORIES Award-winning storytellers perform Oct. 15 at three area libraries: Alton Chung does Gonna Getcha Deep Night Creepers at 3:30 p.m. at Waipahu Library (675-0358); Arizona’s Sean Buvala shares myths and legends at 3 p.m. at Aiea Library (483-7333); and Hawaii’s Dann Seki presents Obake Tales at 3 p.m. at Ewa Beach Library (689-1204).

* CHINA JOURNEY Kapolei Library hosts a free, 45-minute show based on Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16. Call 693-7050.

* HAWAII 2050 The Hawaii 2050 Sustainability Task Force meets with the public at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Nanaikapono Elementary School cafeteria. The task force seeks public comment on the draft plan. Call Larissa at 550-2661.

* BUSINESS The U.S. Small Business Administration plans a resource day from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Waikele branch of Bank of Hawaii (Mary Dale,541-2990, ext. 211) and Oct. 18 at the Pearlridge branch of First Hawaiian Bank (Jerry Hirata, 541-2990, ext. 210).

* MARKET The Waipahu Festival Marketplace opens Oct. 17 on Waipahu Depot Road, featuring more than three dozen kiosks of produce, seafood, sweets and crafts. The market will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Call 677-6939.

* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band performs a free concert at noon Oct. 17 in the Kapolei Hale courtyard. Call 922-5331.

* CHEZ ENTERTAINMENT The King Pins play oldies from 8 to 11 p.m. Oct. 17 at Chez Sports Bar and Grill at Westridge Shopping Center; Oct. 19 Paradise X plays R & B and dance music from 9 p.m. to midnight; Oct. 20-22 it’s live NFL football on 11 screens. Call 488-2439.
