* LANDFILL HEARING The city Planning Commission conducts a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Mission Memorial Auditorium in Honolulu on an amendment to extend the 2010 deadline on closing Waimanalo Gulch landfill. Call 768-8007.

* TRANSIT WORKSHOP The city conducts a workshop on transit-oriented development at two rail stations planned along Farrington Highway, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Waipahu Elementary School cafeteria. Call 768-8050.

* LCC CONCERTS LCC presents a Guitar Concert directed by Peter Kun Frary with works by Joplin, Machado, Mozart and more for classical guitar orchestra, small ensemble and solo at 4 p.m. Nov. 18. * STOP ELDER ABUSE Pearl City Library hosts a talk on “Stop Elder Abuse and Combat Identity Theft” at 3 p.m. Nov. 19. Barbie Faagau of the state Human Services Department shares signs of physical and financial abuse of senior citizens.
