* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Kapolei Police Station; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 23 at Ewa Beach Shopping Center by Star Market; and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 31 at Waikele Center. Call 845-9966.

* PUPPET SHOW Kapolei Library hosts “Christmas Puppet Times with Christy Lipps” at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18. Call 693-7050.

* BAND CONCERT The Royal Hawaiian Band plays a free concert at noon Dec. 19 at Kapolei Hale. Call 922-5331.

* KAPOLEI STORYTIME Kapolei Library (1020 Manawai St.) offers preschool stories and activities at 10 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays through Dec. 20. Call 693-7050.

* TRAVELING STORYTELLERS Kapolei Library presents “Christmas Magic with the Traveling Storytellers” including local versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22. Call 693-7050.

* OUTREACH CHRISTMAS

Lighthouse Outreach Center sponsors an Early Christmas Celebration from 9 am. to 3 p.m Dec. 22 on Farrington Highway between 94-230 Leokane St. and Leowahine Street in Waipahu. Call 225-4589.

* POST OFFICE HOURS

Barbers Point Post Office has extended hours through Dec. 24. They are 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. week-days and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

* LIBRARY CLOSURES All public libraries are closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.


* CHRISTMAS MUSICAL Our Lady of Perpetual Help presents Christmas Musical with Mass and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Call 689-8681.

* CHRISTMAS DISPLAY The Aki Ohana invites the public to visit its yard display of popular cartoon characters from 6 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 1 at 98-1297 Ho’ohuali Place in Pearl City. Call 455-9915.

* BALLROOM DANCE The Pearlridge Chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association registers students Jan. 8, 15 and 22 in Waimalu Elementary School cafeteria (98-825 Moanalua Road) for classes in tango, West Coast swing and rumba. * BOOKS Borders Waikele hosts three monthly reading groups: Bestsellers at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday; Romance Readers Anonymous at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday; and International Women’s Writing Guild at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday. Call 676-6699.

* LATIN DANCE Panama Hatties in Aiea goes Caribbean with Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-Cha-Cha, Reggaeton, Cumbia and more at 10 p.m. Fridays and a Mexican Dance Party at 10 p.m. Saturdays. The band Son Caribe plays from 8 p.m. every Sunday, following a free dance lesson. Cover is $5. Call 485-8226.

* FOOD PANTRY Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on North Road has a food pantry for anyone in need. Bags of nonperishable food are distributed from 10 a.m. to noon on the last Friday of each month by the Social Outreach Ministry. Call 689-8681.

* HALAU ENROLLMENT Halau Kawailaniakea has adult kane and wahine classes in ancient and modern hula at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Makakilo Recreation Center. The first class is free. Call 672-4848.
