Addressing our ‘throw-away culture’

It would be nice if you could address the ills of litter on the Leeward coast. Many times I have seen work crews cleaning it up until they get to Ko Olina. Then they appear to stop picking it up. If it wasn’t for the various civic clubs, no one would be addressing this issue.


I wonder if you could find a way to look at what is dumped along our roads. Being a person who has been picking it up for a year along with my civic club, I can address what is actually thrown out the windows of cars.

I have no idea where the pride of Hawaii plays into this plague of throwing litter out the windows of cars ... Maybe it is time to make an issue of this bad habit. Maybe someone will read what is written. Maybe kindergarten is where to begin. It is a fact that our throw-away culture is not working.
