The Ko Olina ArtFest returns from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, featuring 25 artists from the Handcrafters and Artisans Alliance showcasing their jewelry, clothing, photos and ceramics in the parking lot in front of the Paradise Cove Luau, to the right of the resort entrance.

“All of our items are handcrafted by the artist who is there,“said Nancy Calhoun, executive director of HAA.

Since August, HAA has held an ArtFest in West Oahu about every two months.

“We’ve gotten six or seven new members who live in the Makakilo/Kapolei/Ewa Beach area who just wanted to do that Kapolei event. That’s exciting,” said Calhoun. “Having lived out here in Waianae for 40 years, it is really nice to have a nice event that draws a really good mix of clientele and that’s accessible to Leeward artists.

“So many of the events I participate in - and host - are down in Waikiki. It’s nice to have something that’s closer to home.”

HAA, established in 1988, also hosts a monthly ArtFest at Kapiolani Park.

Artists interested in becoming members so they can participate in all HAA ArtFest events may call 696-6717 or log on to http://haa.hotcrafts.net.
