Hawaii residents welcomed the arrival of the Islands’ first Bed Bath & Beyond on Aug. 5 with a traditional Hawaiian blessing of the 65,000-square-foot store and special message from company CEO Steven Temares.

“We are excited to have opened our first store in Hawaii,” Temares said. “We look forward to sharing our long-standing traditions of exceptional customer service, great value and a broad assortment of merchandise with island residents.”

The store, which is located in the former Circuit City space at Pearlridge Center, features quality domestic merchandise and furnishings for every room in the house.

In addition, the company tailors each store to its unique neighborhood by hiring a local management team, which is given the autonomy to make ongoing merchandise decisions. In addition to Bed Bath & Beyond’s own line of merchandise, for example, the Aiea store is stocked with products - including framed art, food, decorative pillows and personal care items - from more than 35 local vendors.

Store hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, log on to bedbathandbeyond.com.
