The Hoakalei Cultural Foundation presents its fourth annual Arbor Day Giveaway and Native Plant Workshop on Nov. 6 in the Keoneula Elementary School cafeteria.

The free sessions start at 8, 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and include presentations on caring for native plants and how to incorporate them into backyard landscaping designs by UH assistant professor/landscape specialist Andy Kaufman and a certified arborist.

Participants will be able to ask the experts questions, and all attendees receive a plant kit of three Native Hawaiian plants - the ground-cover plant ‘akia, a shrub called kului’i and na’u, the Hawaiian gardenia tree.

Space is limited. Register at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by Nov. 1.

This yearly project is funded by Kaulunani, an Urban Forestry Program of the state DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife, and the USDA Forest Service.
