Black-and-white cow designs have been spotted on cars and trucks in the Pearl City area lately,as those are the markings of company vehicles for Cowabunga! Computers, which added a second location at Pearl Kai Shopping Center last month.
The firm, which also operates on Beretania Street, does computer repair work, networking, consulting, Internet access and Web design. Company president Yasuo Ogawa said customers have been asking him for years to open a second location. He noted that the Pearl Kai facility allows them to provide faster service to customers in the area and at a convenient time, with their long hours - 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The 1,200-square-foot shop (next to Champa Thai) is the base for three on-site technicians and two in-house technicians. Running the operation is vice president and general manager Eric Miyasato, a 2007 Technology Industry Award winner who was honored Sept. 30 at the Flavors of Technology.

“When this store is settled, we will focus on our plans to expand to the other parts of Oahu as well as the neighbor islands and Southern California,“said Miyasato. “We are going to continue working with Time Warner Road Runner as a Road Runner-approved partner for all repairs and services.”
The Pearl Kai shop is being used as a growth model for “aggressive expansion into the private sector as well as to increase our presence within the commercial sector,” said Miyasato.“It carries inventory and parts for the serious gamer to the casual user of PCs. We offer services for all of the products we sell, but most importantly, we are continuing our work with distressed computers.”
The Pearl Kai Shopping Center location phone number is 484-2697 (COWS). The Beretania Street office number is 949-6888.For more information, log onto smart-cows.com
