Stuart Holloway

During commencement ceremonies for about 400 students in adult education classes last month, the audience also met its seven outstanding Oahu Community School for Adults (CSA) teachers of the year, including two from West Oahu.

Stuart Holloway and Joyce Harada were honored for their “dedication to lifelong education and excellent contributions to community schools” (schools that cater to adults interested in hobbies, earning diplomas and developing new skills).

Joyce Harada

Holloway teaches Qigong and tai chi classes at the Moanalua/Aiea CSA and has a strong following of students. He said their desire to improve their health and wellness fuels his passion to continually seek new and exciting ways to make classes mutually enjoyable.

Harada teaches GED prep classes at Waipahu CSA, where she is well-known for “giving from her heart” and creating a safe and caring environment in her classroom.
