Entries are now being accepted for the 2010 Water Conservation Week Poster and Poetry Contest, sponsored by Honolulu Board of Water Supply. All Oahu students in grades K-6 may enter their posters; grades 7-12 may enter poems.

Winning entries will be featured in the 2011 Water Conservation calendar and showcased at different venues throughout Oahu. The winning students also will be awarded a U.S. savings bond.

“The sustainability of our essential water resource relies on the conservation efforts taken by adults and children today,” said Randall Chung, BWS chairman of the board, noting that the contest helps secure educated citizens to look out for the island’s future water supply.

Theme is “Stop The Drop” to draw attention to leaks and their prevention. All entries must be submitted with a completed entry form by March 10 to the BWS communications offices or to any satellite city hall during normal business hours.

For more information and entry forms, call 748-5041 or visit www.boardofwatersupply.com.
