There’s nothing fishy about this weekend’s tank show and anniversary sale at Aquascapes, located in Aiea Town Square.

In honor of the fish supply store’s second year of operation, owners Jojo and Rina Raquel are offering 30 percent off all fish and plants purchased Saturday and Sunday. The husband-wife duo also plan a planet tank show put on by none other than their loyal clients.

“I wanted to do something fun for my customers, so I thought a tank show would be something new and different,” said Jojo. “They actually requested it.”

So far about 20 tanks have been registered to take part in the show. A gallery will be set up in a space next to Young’s Kal Bee and will be open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The public also is asked to judge their favorite tanks on Saturday. Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with first-, second- and third-place winners receiving ADA tanks.

“It’s a people’s choice kind of thing,” Jojo said. “I think it’s nicer that way, because it’s more about how people like their tanks, nothing too set up or planned.”

Jojo, who previously arranged tanks for local businesses and offices before opening Aquascapes in 2008, also will conduct a tank demonstration at 1 p.m. Sunday.
