U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye joins the Kapolei Chamber of Commerce for a luncheon Friday at the Ihilani Hotel.

Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m., with lunch and program to follow. Cost to attend is $45 for chamber members, $60 non-members, $70 at the door. Sponsorship and table options also are available. Go to kapoleichamberinouye.eventbrite.com to register.

Inouye will discuss his perspective on Kapolei, including how federal stimulus funds are fueling the “second city’s” momentum with infrastructure projects that increase the capacity of the area to support new commerce and create jobs.

The most-senior member of the Senate and Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, he recently was named president pro-tempore for the Senate, which places him third in the line for the presidency, after the Speaker of the House.

Also speaking at the lunch is state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa.
