Ko Olina Golf Club hopes to expand the game of golf through its recently launched “Share the Joy of Golf” Ambassador Program that enlists amateur golfers to serve as ambassadors to introduce the game to their family and friends.

As part of the program, each ambassador will have the opportunity to bring up to three beginner golfers to the course each month for a free nine-hole experience. Each guest will receive a 10-minute lesson from one of Ko Olina’s PGA professionals along with rental clubs and shoes free of charge. Amateurs also get a welcome packet with information about the game, rules, etiquette and tips for the course.

“The premise of this program is that the best way for someone to fall in love with the game is through actually playing the game of golf and not necessarily beating balls on the driving range,” said Greg Nichols, general manager/director of golf for the club. “The most conducive atmosphere for a beginner’s first time experience is playing with good friends or family.”
