Every year folks are bowled over by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and this year promises to be no different.

Presented by title sponsor Pacific Office Properties, the annual bowl-a-thon is scheduled for Aug. 7 and 8 at Aiea Bowl. Teams of six will bowl in two-hour shifts while enjoying great food, entertainment and some healthy competition.

In honor of this year’s theme of MVP, participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite sports star.

In 2009, nearly $175,000 was raised to support BBBSH youth mentoring programs. To celebrate 24 years of bowling fun and community support, the nonprofit plans to raise $300,000 this year.
