The McMann Eye Institute & Leeward Laser Vision Center LLC is the first of its kind in the state to offer the Bausch and Lomb-Technolas Perfect Vision Zyoptix technology, a state-of-the-art wavefront customized LASIK.

And the best part is, it’s located at Hawaii Medical Center West-St. Francis Medical Plaza (91-2139 Fort Weaver Road, Suite 202).

As the latest advancement in laser eye surgery, Zyoptix Custom Wavefront LASIK laser treatments are based on the unique visual characteristics of the eye and involve measuring the eye from front to back with a special Zywave aberrometer to create a three-dimensional scan.

According to administrator Jason Sealey, this LASIK procedure and partnership offer patients an excellent surgical experience using trustworthy technology.

“This technology provides increased precision, and it’s well-respected worldwide,” Sealey explained. “There are plenty of safety mechanisms offering peace-of-mind and assurance to patient outcome.”

Cost of the procedure is $2,000 per eye, on average.

“We’ve been very steady with our volume of patients and have seen 25 to 30 patients since we began offering the procedure in October,” Sealey added.

Dr. Michael A. McMann serves as eye physician and surgeon at the institute. With 10 years of experience in ophthalmology, he is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained surgeon in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery.

“We have a lot to offer to this side of the community,” Sealey said,“and patients are happy that they don’t have to go into town for the procedure - that’s a big plus.”
