The state library system will purge its files of all inactive accounts Nov. 22, which includes patrons who haven’t used their cards in the past three years to borrow materials.

Those who only use their library cards for Internet and other online access also will notice “the purge.”

Accounts can be reactivated for free by filling out a new application with valid identification at any library branch.

Removing inactive accounts from the patron database “will provide an updated, more accurate database for our business and management uses,” said officials.
