Manana Elementary School’s PTO seeks vendors for its third annual “Celebrate Spring” craft fair, to be held next month at the Pearl City school.

“The craft fair has been getting bigger every year,” said chairwoman Jodi Akasaki. “The first year we had about 40 vendors, last year we have over 50 vendors, and this year we have space for over 70 vendors.”

Booth fees range from $50 to $80, depending on size, location and electrical needs. Interested persons should call 453-6430, ext. 261, or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Deadline for applications is March 19.

The craft fair is organized by parent volunteers at Manana Elementary, along with help from staff, students and school users.

This year, the 179-member PTO was able to replace the cafeteria’s projector screen and hopes money raised from the craft fair will help fund a literacy resource room, where teachers will have access to various learning materials for differentiated instruction.

“The craft fair is a lot of work, but it is worth it,” said PTO president Bonnie Tokita.

“Everyone pitches in and volunteers their time to help out. We all know it’s for our kids, so we all help.”
