‘Olelo Will Broadcast Youth Videos At Mall

A record 575 entrants from 81 schools statewide are set to showcase their skills from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Pearlridge Uptown Center Court in the second annual ‘Olelo Youth Xchange Video Competition.

Among them are submissions from 18 West Oahu schools: Aiea, Kapolei, Campbell, Waipahu and Moanalua High; Alvah Scott, August Ahrens, Kanoelani, Manana,Moanalua,Palisades, Pearl City Highlands, Pearl Ridge,Waipahu and Webling elementary; and Kapolei and Moanalua Middle and Waipahu Intermediate schools.


The public is invited to the free event,where all of the student-produced videos will be continuously shown on several large-screen monitors. Representatives also will be on hand to provide information on video training programs, access services and other resources offered at ‘Olelo’s six community media centers.Attendees also can register for a chance to win a new Sony Bloggie HD video camera.
