Hawaii’s Plantation Village in Waipahu will host its “Relive the Plantation Days Festival” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Dragon.

Keiki activities are planned, including plantationera games and crafts and New Year’s games such as hanatsuki and top spinning. Keiki also will have the opportunity to win prizes.

Entertainment features a traditional Chinese lion dance, a keiki hula show and taiko drums.

The Tekniqlingz Crew, a traditional and modern Filipino folk dance troupe, also will take the stage. The group strives to perpetuate Filipino culture through arts and entertainment and adds modern dance stylings like hip-hop to traditional routines. Josephine Carreira will perform traditional Portuguese Fado singing.

Attendees also can enjoy free food samples of traditional New Year’s dishes, including Chinese gao, Korean mandoo, Japanese zenzai and Okinawan nantu. Plate lunches, gao, jai, hot dogs, hamburgers, shave ice and beverages will be available for purchase.

The village will be open for free tours during the event, which is free and open to the public, with free parking on site at 94-695 Waipahu St. For details, call 677-0110.
