Jungle River Mini Golf will offer a special Ohana Summer Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at its Pearlridge location.

Everyone’s invited to come and enjoy discounted mini golf admission, balloon twisting by Balloon Monsoon, face painting by Color Whims, photos by VRM Digital Images, video games by Mobile Gamer Guys, a coloring contest and arts and crafts.

Food items on special are $1 hot dogs, $4 bentos and $3 shave ice.

The event doubles as an early drop-off location for Prudential’s Backpack Challenge, a collection drive to present children in foster care with a backpack filled with needed items. Suggested donations include socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, sleepwear and school supplies. Please mark backpacks by gender and age group (infants and toddlers, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17).

“As a family-oriented business, we are always looking for ways to give back or contribute to the community, so when we were asked to partner with them, we didn’t hesitate to participate,” said Jungle River general manager Minda Pascual-Arnold.

“We know how important education is and the hardship Hawaii families are facing through this hard economic time.”

Prizes from Jungle River, Hawaiian Airlines, Kelsey’s Baby Specialty and Big City Diner will be given away throughout the afternoon. Visitors also will have the opportunity to sign up for free membership in Oceanic Cable’s Kids Club and MyTV Club.

Jungle River also is offering a buy one, get one free annual pass special for individuals or families. For more information, call 488-8808.
