Pacific Corporate Solutions gives new life to old computers and printers at a free, unlimited E-waste Recycling drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday in the Leeward Community College main parking lot. Canned food donations also will be accepted for Hawaii Foodbank.

Items that can be dropped off for recycling are computer monitors, fax machines, laptops, servers, PBX systems, cell phones, telephones and anything that has to do with telecommunications equipment.

“Lots of people put that stuff at the curb, and it goes to the landfill,” said David Smith, CEO of Pacific Corporate Solutions.“We’re worried about the landfill filling up, and there’s no need for that type of material to go to the landfill. There’s also so much personal data, so we’re keeping that stuff from getting in the wrong people’s hands.”

Leave TVs, batteries and microwaves at home, however. For more details, go to www.ewastehawaii.com.

Last month Pacific Corporate Solutions conducted several recycling drives around the island, including one at Leeward Community College and another at UH Manoa.
