The Midas Auto Service & Tire Shop in Waipahu recently received a tune-up and is now a Midas-SpeeDee co-branded franchise. In addition to its regular trusted services, the automotive repair and maintenance station will offer quick oil changes.

“This co-branding strategy is extremely exciting because it enables both Midas and SpeeDee to benefit from the strengths of the two brands’ respective service offerings to provide the three most frequent vehicle maintenance services - oil changes, brakes and tires,” said Midas executive vice president William M. Guzik.

The Waipahu shop is the first venture in Hawaii to become a Midas-SpeeDee co-brand. To celebrate, Midas-SpeeDee will have a grand opening celebration this Saturday at the center, located at 94-709 Farrington Hwy. After a blessing at 9:30 a.m., guests are invited for food, refreshments and one-day specials such as a $34.99 oil change, 25 percent off brake shoes or pads and up to $30 off select fluid exchange services.

Regular hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 628-6300 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Midas-SpeeDee owner Bob Pereira and his brother Tony took over the reins of Midas Hawaii in 1978 and built it into the 11-shop ohana it is today. Waipahu manager Lito Bambilla, who has been with Midas for more than 24 years, and his staff of 17 are now being trained on all of SpeeDee’s services and procedures.
