Del.icio.usThe city honored students and teachers from West Oahu schools, including Campbell, Kapolei, Pearl City, Waipahu and Aiea Intermediate and High schools March 19 at Kapolei Hale as part of an Earth Month (April) celebration. Community leaders were on hand to acknowledge students whose artwork was entered in the city’s Earth Month Teen Video and Photo contest and which is on display through April 5 in the Kapolei Hale lobby. Festivities included an Earth Month proclamation by Mayor Mufi Hannemann, an awards presentation for winning photo and video submissions and an awards presentation for “Everyday Environmental Heroes” from neighborhoods including Ewa Beach, Waipahu and Aiea.
