Folks flocked from across the island to enjoy the rides, games, entertainment and, of course, to visit the pigs, chicks, horses and sheep at the Hawaii State Farm Fair in Kapolei. The festivities ran from July 19 to 29. A tent set up by agricultural organizations educated visitors about the history of island produce such as coffee and taro.

A farmer’s market featured a bountiful variety of fresh produce from throughout the islands. An orchid and plant sale added some beauty and color and introduced guests to exotic fruit trees and native Hawaiian plants. Families also enjoyed live musical entertainment.
