Both past and present students and faculty of Ewa Elementary helped honor our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, as the school put on its 64th annual Lincoln Day program Feb 12. School principal Stan Tamashiro said this year’s event marked a return to a more traditional celebration much like the first one conducted in 1944. “The students always enjoy watching and participating in all the performances,” he said. Along with a medley of patriotic songs from keiki in all grade levels, the audience enjoyed performances by the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club and the Ewa Plantation Singers, and a speech from Mayor Mufi Hannemann.
