Volunteers with Kapolei-based nonprofit The Well of Hope Foundation gathered Dec. 19 at U.S. VETS transitional housing to serve an early holiday dinner to the nearly 200 veterans currently residing at the Kalaeloa facility. The meal, which consisted of roast turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, rice, stuffing, steamed vegetables and desserts, was provided by Times Supermarket in Waimalu and was prepared by the West Oahu Line Dancers. The Well of Hope also brought gift bags of shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, lotion and other toiletries for the residents.
