Kapolei’s Hagi Named OIA Judo Player Of The Year

Kapolei’s Kira Hagi has been named the girls Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Judo Player of the Year, the league announced recently.
Hagi, who competed in the 103-pound weight class, was one of three Hurricanes to be named to the league’s First Team joining both Clarissa Reidy (115) and Kristen Kono (129). Janice Kunishige (139) and Tiffany Wicks (172) were also named to the Second Team from Kapolei.
Pearl City had a league-best six members - Paige Inouye (109), Tonya Kageno (122), Jillian Fontanilla (139), Tiyana Arakaki (154), Kelsey Awa (172) and Kasey Fujihara (220) - named to the West’s First Team. Keani Hueu (98), Jessica Domingo (103), Kristin Inouye (109), Kimberly Rivera (115), Jolana Gallero (129) and Veah Tapat (154) were named to the West’s Second Team. Pearl City’s Robin Puahala was named the league’s Coach of the Year. Selections are made by the conference coaches.
