A new soccer store behind Cutter Ford in Aiea is bringing the sport to fans in a big way.

“It’s definitely the largest soccer-specific store in Hawaii,” said Jason Kelley, co-owner of Xtreme Soccer and a head coach with the Olympic Development Program. “Everything you could think of that you would need we would have, and if we don’t have it we can get it.”

Opened May 19, the 2,000-square-foot retailer broadcasts live soccer games from Fox Soccer Channel and ESPN and sells everything from shoes, shorts, tops and knee braces to referee jerseys, infant gear, videos and coaching equipment. Brands include Adidas,Diadora,Kelme,Lotto,Nike, Puma and Umbro.

Once fully stocked, the store expects to have 150 shoes to choose from.

“We’re getting all the major brands,” said Marian Barnthouse, a soccer mom and forward in the women’s league, who also is a co-owner along with her husband, Michael.

“We do team and club orders if you need uniforms,“she added.“If you want to be specific, maybe your team wants to wear all Adidas apparel, we can take care of that.”

The Harbor Center retailer, down the first left after the guard shack (next to Roy’s Fishing Supply), also offers a 600-square-foot indoor turfed field, which will be used for one-on-one tournaments, parties and the SoccerTots program for youngsters age 18 months to 5 years old. The national program, for which Kelley will be certified in July, introduces youngsters to soccer and teaches basic motor skills.

SoccerTots begins in August, and registration will start in July. The store offers team discounts, a loyalty program and screening, embroidery and related work. It plans a grand opening sometime next month.

Store hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. It’s closed Mondays and holidays. For more information,call 485-0540 or visit the store’s website at www.xtremesoccerhawaii.com
