The best of two Weinberg worlds have collided just in time for holiday parties.

The Willows restaurant bosses - general manager Kyle Nakayama and administrator Garret Kamei - are working with Luana Hills Country Club on a weekday banquet promotion through the holidays at the Maunawili clubhouse.

“We’ll definitely be working together on the banquets and menus,” said Nakayama, warming to the new partnership.“The place has so much untapped potential, we could-n’t wait to (help out).”

Their first step is consulting on a week-day buffet lunch or dinner package for party functions. With a menu developed by Luana Hills general manager Darin Sumimoto, the club is offering an all-youcan-eat price of $18.95 for lunch and $26.95 for dinner from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31 for a minimum of 50 guests.

“Hopefully our partnership will grow,“said Sumimoto, a Kaneohe resident who grew up in Olomana. His banquet manager is Shelly McLain.“The better it gets, the more we’ll do.”

Since both the Willows and Luana Hills are owned by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Nakayama said it made sense for them help promote their lesser-known Windward “sister.”

“Both Garret and I are born and raised in Kailua (and Kailua High grads), and we still live only 5 minutes away from Luana Hills. But when we took a tour of the property, we were blown away - banquet rooms facing the mountains, free parking, a hidden treasure!”
