Windward Community College will offer career seekers a chance to develop their potential and look into new job prospects at its College & Career Fair set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at Hale Akoakoa Atrium.

Job-seekers can talk to more than 40 potential employers, and college representatives will be on hand with tips on finding the right technical or professional training. Several local colleges and all of the University of Hawaii campuses participate in the fair, which is free and open to WCC students and the public. Those present are eligible to win WCC tuition waivers and more.

“We can help you dialog with employers about what’s coming down the road next year or five years ahead,” said WCC career counselor Sarah Hodell. “It’s a great place to network with employers and schools. Even if you’re currently working, you might find a job that is more exciting to you.”

Among the job highlights: Apple Inc. will recruit trainees in technology; VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital seeks experienced vet assistants; non-military tech or social service jobs are available on Kaneohe Marine base, and Cultural Surveys Hawaii has archaeo-logical jobs. The state and the U.S. Census Bureau will interview and test for jobs paying $17 per hour - starting immediately!

Among the training opportunities are UH Academy of Creative Media (film/TV), Honolulu CC CADD (architecture/engineering), Institute of Clinical Acupuncture (alternative health), pharmacy at UH-Hilo and the WCC vet assist program.

Also attending are staff from Sea Life Park, city Parks and Recreation, YWCA, Hina Mauka Rehabilitation Clinic, Peace Corps, Honolulu Police Department, Alu Like Inc., Kamaaina Kids and the U.S. Army and Navy.
