An “Adore Life Soiree” Dec. 17 will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and also honor the memory of the late Sheila Ann Rausch.
The longtime Kailua resident was a mother, businesswoman and paddler with Lanikai Canoe Club. She died of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) earlier this year, and her daughters Renee and Lea are sponsoring the event.
“We wanted to give back to the organization that helped our mother and family so much throughout this terrible disease,” the women stated.
The gala runs from 6 to 10 p.m. with entertainment by Kuana Kahele Torres, Keali’i Ho and Randy Allen, heavy pupus, a silent auction and prize drawings.
Tickets cost $60 and must be reserved by Dec. 1 by calling 721-2688.
All proceeds go to the local MDA chapter.
