As stores begin stocking their shelves with notebooks, backpacks and other signs of school, Central Pacific Bank has launched its annual Ready to Learn program.

Throughout July, the bank, including its Windward branches, welcomes school supplies and monetary donations for children from grades K12 who need help equipping themselves for the class days ahead.

“Purchasing school supplies can be a challenge,” said CPB president and CEO John Dean, “and many children face returning to school without necessary learning materials. We want to help Hawaii’s families send their children to school with the tools needed for them to excel.”

The drive is run in partnership with Helping Hands Hawaii to get the items into the hands of those who need them most.

The Windward bank branches are in Kailua (on Kuulei Road) and in Kaneohe (across from Windward Mall). For more information, call 544-0500.
