The monthly Koolau Magic Theatre in Ahuimanu Valley is back for January with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday near the Times Supermarket end of Koolau Center.

The family program features veteran magicians James Lee and his doves, and The Great Davidio both nights. Davidio (dentist Dennis Brown) shoots rubber chickens out of a cannon, among other things. Lee, who owns Pioneer Jewelry Co. on Bethel Street, does both close-up and stage magic, and took first place in the 2007 Commando Act Challenge.

Mr. O (Harvey Ouchi) is on for Friday and Aaron Vermeer will take the stage Saturday. Doors open one hour early both days, offering a warm-up routine with free balloon animals for the keiki.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children age 11 and younger. For more information and a $2 presale discount, call 239-6711 or visit Temple Valley Dental Group.
