Windward Community College and Brigham Young University Hawaii are teaming up to promote post-secondary educational in the Ko’olauloa community.

The two colleges will host a free Ko’olauloa Educational Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 23 at Kahuku District Park to showcase the new partnership. Visitors can explore available courses, discuss college admissions and speak with counselors and financial aid specialists.

Entertaining the crowd will be Vaihi and Oriata Polynesian Dance group, while children can enjoy face-painting and bounce houses. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

It is the hope of the two Windward colleges that the expo will provide students with the chance to start exploring college options. WCC also announced that classes will be offered in the Koolauloa area in the fall, and BYUH has agreed to accept credits for any WCC-taught, college-level course taken in Koolauloa.
