Gallery Urges Support For Marsh Restoration

The Nohea Island Art gallery in Kailua will host a community gathering to build neighborhood support for the cultural and ecological restoration projects of Kawainui Marsh from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at 676 Kailua Road.

“Malama ia Kawainui: Care for Kawainui” will feature free live entertainment and refreshments and will also showcase its art pieces that, when sold, will benefit the mission of ‘Ahuhui Malama i ka Lokahi, Hawaiians for the Conservation of Native Ecosystems - that of bolstering the sustainability of the marsh. (The art sale runs from June 3 to 20).


Located at the corner of Kailua Road and Hamakua Drive, the gallery is the first building to the right after crossing the bridge leading into Kailua town.
