Marking its 10th year of restoration the Heeia Fishpond, Paepae o He’eia, will host a benefit gala from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Heeia State Park.

On the menu at “Ho’olako A Taste of He’eia” are seafood creations from local chefs Mark Noguchi of Heeia Pier Deli, Karen Miyano of the Reluctant Caterer, Tammy Smith of Hale Kealoha, Martha Cheng and Kimberly Oi of Melt, Andrew Le of The Pig and The Lady, and Shaw Tanner. Their dishes feature fresh local produce and fish from the pond.

The evening also offers a silent auction of great art and music by awardwinning entertainers Mailani Makainai and Jerry Santos.

Tickets went on sale last month and cost $100 per person or $1,200 for a reserved table of eight. Make checks out to Paepae o Heeia, but for ordering details, call 236-6178 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Deadline is Friday.

The nonprofit’s vision is “to implement values and concepts from the model of a traditional fishpond to provide physical, intellectual and spiritual sustenance for our community.”
