As of two weeks ago, there were no entries submitted for Hawaii Pacific University’s annual poetry contest.

Now is the time to write something in rhyme (or not).

Postmark deadline is Dec. 15 to enter the annual James M. Vaughan Award for Poetry competition, which bestows $250 cash on the winner, whose work will be published in the college literary journal. The top poem will be announced next month, and the award will be presented at HPU’s annual Koolau Writing Workshops in Kaneohe in March.

Budding poets can send up to three poems, with a 100-line limit each, to the award program at 1060 Bishop St. #LB 7A, Honolulu HI 96813. For entry details, call Patrice Wilson at 544-1108 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
