Keeping in mind its promotional value as a “go-to” site for Obama paparazzi, Kailua Chamber of Commerce has launched its new Web site, bringing with it many new, user-friendly features.

Residents who log on to www.kailuachamber.com will now be able to navigate through the latest social media features, such as Facebook, twitter and YouTube. Member profiles, blogs on issues and a yearlong calendar of planned events are available as well.

“There were drastic spikes in traffic each time President Obama came to town. But they weren’t staying on the site long, and they weren’t coming back,” said Daniela Stolfi of BOSS Hawaii, the Web designer hired for the project.“It is our goal to bring the chamber into the forefront and make it the leading resource for all things Kailua.”

Stolfi noted that she’s already seen a “significant increase” in traffic.“That means people are already coming back. So the next time Obama comes back, we will be ready.”
