Kaneohe Parade Committee Recognizes Outstanding Marchers

The 2011 Kaneohe Christmas Parade committee has announced its top floats, marchers and bands, along with the businesses and volunteers who helped to make the Dec. 3 event a success.
‘Olelo Community Television also will broadcast the parade at 10 p.m. Dec. 25 and 2 p.m. Dec. 26 on FOCUS 49; and 10 a.m. Dec. 30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 31 on OAHU 52.
As parade chairwoman Kuulei Olsen Richardson put it, “The parade was packed, choke volunteers came out of the woodwork, and the quality of the floats was unbelievable!” Richardson especially wanted to thank her willing and patient family, neighbors and friends for their assistance.
Key help came from Yamashiro Building Supply, Kaneohe Bakery, Koolau Pets, American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, First Hawaiian Bank, Kaneohe Business Group, Kualoa Ranch, Kaneohe Community & Family Center, Hawaii Pa’u Riders & Ohana, ‘Olelo, Castle High, King Intermediate, Kapunahala Elementary, Le Jardin Academy, Windward Community College and Paliku Academy of Performing Arts.
First-place awards are listed below. Several other entries placed or received honorable mentions.
